CAN I MEET MY SPONSORED CHILD?

Yes! AMG International sponsors  around the world. Frequently, we will go to countries where childcare centers are located. When we go to the country where your child lives, we encourage you to participate in that trip. Short-term trips are a great way to share the love of Jesus and meet your sponsored child face-to-face. Please email us at missionadventures@amginternational.org or call us at 1-800-251-7206, ext. 421, to find out if we have plans to send a short-term mission team to your sponsored child’s youth development center in the near future. We would love to have you join us.

If you are traveling to the country your child lives in, please contact the home office and we will work to coordinate a visit if you would like to see your sponsored child.

CAN I SEND MY CHILD EXTRA GIFTS FOR CHRISTMAS AND BIRTHDAYS?

Yes! While we don’t send any physical gifts, we do allow sponsors to send special financial gifts! You can send your gift by logging into your account and clicking here. You can specify what you would like your gift to go towards by adding "Additional Gift Instructions". Many of our sponsors send a birthday gift, as well as a Bundle of Love (which is our Christmas gift program). 

You can also mail a check to AMG International at 6815 Shallowford Rd. Chattanooga, TN 37421.

CAN I WRITE LETTERS TO MY CHILD?
Yes! We encourage you to write to your child. The letters will help build a valuable relationship that your child will always remember. Usually twice a year, your child will write to you.
HOW CAN I WRITE TO MY CHILD?

You can write a letter online by clicking or you can create an online account and write to your child, as well as your child’s development center, from your account page. You can also mail a letter to AMG International at 6815 Shallowford Rd. Chattanooga, TN 37421.

*Please note that all communications to and from donors come to the home office for processing. No direct communication with the child is permitted for the security and safety of children, donors and field staff.

HOW DOES AMG'S CHILD SPONSORSHIP COMPARE TO OTHER CHILD SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMS?
Our program is a gospel-first ministry that focuses on holistically meeting a child’s deepest needs, based on his or her context. Our child sponsorship staff are intentional with each child in our program, and your sponsorship provides nutritional support, educational assistance, and basic healthcare where possible while giving the child a safe space to grow in their relationship with the Lord. In most cases, it’s a five-day program that includes a nutritional meal. Many other organizations are two to three days a week and do not have a gospel focus.
HOW MUCH IS APPROPRIATE TO GIVE MY CHILD FOR SPECIAL GIFTS, CHRISTMAS AND BIRTHDAYS?
We recommend a minimum of $20 (which is the price of one ), with most gifts ranging from $25-$50. Please do not exceed $100 for any single gift. If you have a unique situation, you may contact the sponsorship department at sponsorships@amginternational.org or by calling 1-800-251-7206 and a staff member will discuss this with you.
HOW MUCH OF MY SPONSORSHIP FUNDS GO TO MY CHILD?
We have an overall overhead of 8% and strive to stretch every dollar to benefit your child with as many services as we can. AMG invests more than your sponsorship through local partnerships and other AMG program funding.
WHAT COUNTRIES CAN I CHOOSE A CHILD FROM?
Currently AMG International is providing childcare to children in Bangladesh, Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Peru, the Philippines, Thailand and Uganda.
WHAT IS INVOLVED IN SPONSORING A CHILD?
Child sponsorship includes prayer and financial support for your child. You will also receive letters from your child to help foster your new relationship! Each child writes two letters a year, and we would love for you to respond. You can write as many letters as you like! Letters and photos are especially treasured by the children in our program. You can encourage and invest in their life while watching them grow physically and spiritually. Knowing that someone thousands of miles away cares enough to invest in their life is a powerful inspiration.
