DISASTER RELIEF

DISASTER RELIEF

Rebuilding lives and restoring
communities after disaster strikes.
Rebuilding lives, restoring communities, and sharing the hope of the gospel
after disaster strikes.
Earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods often strike without warning—and the needs that follow are immediate and immense. AMG International’s disaster relief ministry stands ready to provide desperately needed assistance in these situations.
Earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods often strike without warning—and the needs that follow are immediate and immense. AMG International’s disaster relief ministry stands ready to provide desperately needed assistance in these situations.

In many parts of the world, we already have ministry contacts with access to those who need help. By giving to the Disaster Relief Fund, you enable us to provide life-saving and time-sensitive assistance such as food, water, medicine, shelter, and other necessities immediately following disasters.

AMG International often engages in the second stage of relief efforts to offer more of a long-term community solution. After hurricanes, tornadoes, and tsunamis wreak their havoc, we rebuild houses and relocate people. We work toward long-term engagement with the affected community and strive to see the local church grow in the process. We partner with local leaders, offer trauma counseling, and provide needed financial resources.

Highlights

Beginning in 2020, we started our COVID-19 Food Relief Fund to help counter the increasing food insecurity in the countries we work in. Our local partners supported their local economies by purchasing food, supplies, and hygiene products distributed at no cost to thousands of people.

In early 2021, Myanmar faced a military coup that shut down the country and its economy. Food supply chains, electricity, and water was shut off for many civilians, and there was little to no access to care for the sick. The Save Myanmar Project has helped more than 1,000 families with food relief, COVID-19 relief, and spiritual support.

After the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in the late summer of 2021, many Afghans fled to neighboring countries where we have relief programs already in place. Our Afghan Refugee Relief project is helping families who have fled for their lives into Pakistan with food, care, and the gospel.

In 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine to overthrow the government and take control of the country's future. Our national missionaries responded immediately. Our Ukraine Relief efforts have helped over 700,000 people and distributed 1,200 tons of food and supplies.

After the two earthquakes in Turkey in February 2023, 1.5 million people were left without homes or jobs. You made it possible for our national missionaries to respond immediately. Over five months, your support provided three meals daily to an average of 4,000-6,000 people.
